Sandi Masori

  photo of Sandi Masori

BIO – Sandi Masori- Decotwister/ SEO Expert

Sandi began in the balloon business on the twisting side in 1994.  After travelling all over the world performing, and staying a year and a half in Japan, she settled in Israel in 1998.  While in Israel, Sandi took a decorating class offered by Christopher Horne and decided to cross-over to become a deco-twister; at the time one of only a small number of people who were creating with balloons by using both décor and twisting elements in their work.  After Sandi met her soon to be husband Shahar, they decided to move back to Sandi’s hometown of San Diego, California.  On the way, they stopped and studied privately with some of the best balloon artists in the industry on both the decorating and twisting side.

Since 2000 Sandi and Shahar have run Balloon Utopia in San Diego, offering both entertainment and decorations.  She has authored a total of five balloon instructional videos and continues to be active in learning and teaching in both the décor and entertainment sides of the industry.

About two years ago, Balloon Utopia’s Web site received a major facelift.   At the same time, Sandi decided she needed to learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to ensure the continued high rankings of her website in the Search Engine Results Page (SERPS).  She attended a boot camp that sparked a continuing interest in learning more about the Internet marketing industry.  After completing that boot camp, she joined an online think tank “university” for Internet marketers, and continued her education with online classes, live seminars and events, and online “webinars.”

With the recent economic crises, and especially the way that it affected the special events industry, Sandi realized though her balloon sales were way down, people were looking for help marketing and getting better exposure online was on the rise.   Instead of dropping their prices to rock bottom the way many of their balloon competitors did, the Masoris thought that it would be more prudent to have a side income from SEO and keep their balloon pricing unchanged, while they waited out the storm of recession.

These days, Sandi spends her time pretty evenly divided between Balloon Utopia and San Diego SEO.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
or Google and Yahoo and Bing - Oh My!

Nowadays everyone goes to the Internet to find whatever they need.  The fact is, if your clients can’t find you on Google, or one of the other major search engines, you don’t exist.  Ranking well in the search engines is the best form of marketing next to word of mouth referrals.  And if you do it right, it doesn’t cost a thing.  In this class, you will receive a dynamic overview of “Onpage” and “Offpage” SEO Search Engine Optimization (SEO) factors.  If you don’t know what this means, then this class is definitely for you!

If time permits, we’ll even try to take a look at some of the attendees’ own Web sites and do a mini site review (for SEO factors).   Though really intended to be an overview, even those who know something about SEO may find this class has something to offer them as well. With live case studies, you never know what will come out!

In order to reward those for attending, handouts will be given out during the class only, rather than offered in the convention notebook.

Realistic Non-Round Character Creation

One of the most popular party themes of the year is the new Alice in Wonderland!
Come join Ken Stillman as he puts together one of the most realistic portrayals of the new Mad Hatter. Ken will be revealing one of his newest concepts that he has been working on, an easy construction of a realistic human head made with balloons. It's hard to tell the difference between the balloon creation and the real Johnny Depp;)
The head shape has soft enough features that it can be used for female characters as well.
"I can't wait to see how far others will take this concept." Ken will give examples in his class of other characters that can be made from this head design such as skulls, super heroes, the Queen of Hearts, a groom, a prince for the princesses, and more.

Ken Stillman's Balloon Beads!

Years ago an Italian team of balloon designers built a working ferris wheel. The structure was completely hidden inside the inflated balloons. Ken has expanded on this concept in order to bring you Balloon Beads; an easy, practical way to make seemingly impossible balloon sculptures.
You won't want to miss this class.
